Law & Order: SVU

I love this show. It is one of the best shows on television and it has been since it started. Even with it's occassional cast changes it has never been hurt. Sometimes it takes a bit to get a character into a groove but they always find it and things keep going. I will never fully get over the loss of A.D.A Alex Cabot but that is the curse of the Law & Order francise the A.D.As will always be changing. There is one thing I wish they hadn't done though and that was have Elliot and his wife split up. I really liked that they had one character on there that could keep his family together. That all has nothing to do with the start of this season though.

Wow, what a great season premiere and a great episode for Elliot. He really had to go through some stuff in that episode. All those years of putting those guys away only to pretend to be one and have to sit there and listen to them talk about the things they did knowing that, that allows them to be back out on the street. I'm surprised he didn't beat that guy to a bloody pulp. It took a lot of restraint for him to not do in that guy.

The thing that's really great about this show is how it can be just as good when the focus of an episode is on one character or when it's a group effort and they are all getting pretty equal screen time. It's a rare show that can pull that off and shows how great the show is all around. How it isn't consistantly nominated for Outstanding Drama Series is beyond me.

Next weeks episode looks awesome. Two episodes three great guest stars already. The season is off to a great start. I'm really looking forward to the episode I've been hearing about where Olivia spends pretty much the entire show on the phone with a missing girl, whose locked away somewhere. What little I've read sounds like it's one of their best episodes ever.
