Out of Practice

This season is highly abnormal for me in the amount of new sitcoms I am checking out and so far I have been pleased with them all. I still have one more after this one to view but so far Out of Practice is my favorite. It definitely has the best cast of any new show out there. It also caught a huge break that such a late time slot was available for it. That banter between Oliver (Ty Burrell) and Regina (Paula Marshall) about her past girlfriends and possible future ones would never fly if it had gotten stuck in an early slot. Considering all the relationship issues in the show it would be seriously hurt if they couldn't use that kind of dialogue.

Ty Burrell is the only cast memeber I'm not familiar with. And not only is it a great cast just because of who they are they all fit their characters perfectly. The late addition of Jennifer Tilly as Crystal the receptionist and girlfriend of Stewart (Henrey Winkler) is brilliant as far as I'm concerned. Leave it to Jennifer to play a character whose first appearance on screen is in a towel.

I honestly didn't expect this show to be as funny as it was. You hope that so many good people wouldn't gravitate to bad material but sometimes even with good material you put that much talent in a room and they don't mesh. They don't play the characteres off each other well but that was not the case at all with this show. Everyone not only seems to have a good grasp of their characters but they seem to really know what each other is doing with their respective characters which is good since they are suppose to be a family. If they didn't understand each other it would kill the show.

It had good opening numbers I hope those hold because it'll make Monday so much more enjoyable.
